Regulations and sanctions
Our CPD Regulations document provides you with an overview of the policies that govern the scheme.
RAD Registered Teachers and Mutually Recognised Teachers must take part in the RAD CPD Scheme in order to in order to retain their status; as per the Code of Professional Practice for Teachers registered with the RAD. This to ensure that they maintain up-to-date knowledge, understanding and skills to respond to developments in the dance profession.
Teachers who have not met their minimum CPD requirement by 30 June each year may now become subject to formal sanctions. These have been created to follow a staged process, as outlined below:
- Written warning(s)
- Suspension of teacher registration for a set period (3 – 12 months)
- Removal of RAD teacher registration for a period of 3 years
- Expulsion from membership and permanent removal from the RAD’s teaching register.
