London Olympic Games 2012 - Information for parents

In July and August 2012, London will play host to the Olympic Games! This exciting event is sure to provide visitors with a multitude of sporting and cultural experiences and the chance to be part of the biggest event of the year! Why not extend your stay after your Summer School and take in all that the Olympics have to offer? There are plenty of things to do and see - from opportunities to see the Olympic events live, to free events around London; there are ways for everyone to get caught up in the festivities of the Olympic Games.

For dates and details of the Olympic Torch Relay, visit the London 2012 website.

We are aware that hotel and airfares may be more expensive in summer 2012. As well as adjusting our application and closing dates, we have researched a few companies who are able to assist with securing the best rates for accommodation in London. This information is accurate at the time of publishing. Website links to these sites are listed below along with links to university accommodation options:

Westminster University www.westminster.ac.uk/summeraccommodation

Please note: We strongly recommend that you do not book flights or accommodation until you have received confirmation of your place in a Summer School.

Please note: Any visits should be arranged and scheduled in addition to the Summer School. Students must attend the Summer School from Monday to Saturday and will not be permitted to take time out from their scheduled lessons. The RAD will not be organising any outings for students to Olympic events.

If you have any questions regarding your application, please do not hesitate to contact Charlotte George, Summer School Officer, on +44 (0)20 7326 8026 or cgeorge@rad.org.uk
