The Royal Academy of Dance offers a wide range of courses, classes and workshops for young people
Intensive Examination Syllabus course
This course is designed for intensive study of the syllabus in preparation for examinations. Daily syllabus classes are followed by a pointe work class for females and a virtuosity class for males.
- Who can attend: students aged 11 years and above who are preparing for RAD Vocational Graded examinations
- Duration: 5-day course – 2 ¾ hour class per day
- Fee: 5-day course - £185.00 / €246.00

Comprehensive Syllabus classes
A Graded or Vocational Graded syllabus class observed by teachers. The tutor focuses on criteria assessed in examination, helping to enhance students’ knowledge and understanding of musicality, technique and performance qualities - the three interrelated areas that make up the complete dancer.
- Who can attend: students who have a good knowledge of the syllabus content
- Duration: 1 ½ - 2 ½ hours (depending on level)
- Student Fee: £17.75 – £29.55 (depending on the length of the class)
- Teacher Observation Fee: £28.00 for a full day

Non-Syllabus Pointe Work classes
For Intermediate Foundation & Intermediate students
This class will focus on steps, movements and strengthening exercises relating to basic pointe work. The class is designed to help strengthen pointe technique, alignment and control. Advice will be given on how students can best prepare and maintain their pointe shoes.
For Advanced Foundation, Advanced 1 & Advanced 2 students
This class will focus on steps and movements at an advanced level of training, with an emphasis on correct technique, response to music and appropriate presentation. Advice will be given on how students can best prepare and maintain their pointe shoes.
- Who can attend:
GROUP A: Students aged 11+ studying Intermediate Foundation / Intermediate
GROUP B: Students aged 12+ studying Advanced Foundation / Advanced 1 / Advanced 2
- Duration: 2 hours
