RAD Vocational Graded examinations
The Royal Academy of Dance offers a wide range of courses, classes and workshops for young people
We offer Vocational Graded examinations for students from the age of 11 upwards and the Solo Seal Award examination for students who have achieved the Advanced Certificate.
Learning ballet requires patience and continual study over time. Students studying for Vocational Graded examinations should expect to take a minimum of two classes a week at the lowest level increasing as they progress towards the higher levels.
The speed of development of individual students may vary and extra time spent, particularly when growth spurts occur, can only be beneficial in the long term.
To assist with this, the RAD Training department offers intensive examination syllabus courses all around the UK and private lessons and personalised programmes at RAD HQ (London). For detailed descriptions of classical ballet technique, teachers are strongly advised to refer to the most recent publications available from the RAD shop.
RAD Conference: Dance and Lifelong Wellbeing, 26-28 April 2013
Booking for the Introduction to the new Advanced Foundation, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 syllabi Teachers’ courses is now open.
