The Royal Academy of Dance offers a wide range of courses, classes and workshops for young people
Examinations, Presentation classes and Class awards are organised by Regional Managers in the UK and by National Directors, Managers and RAD Representatives internationally.
If you are a new teacher, or are new to a particular area, we recommend that you contact your local office to introduce yourself and to ensure that you are added to their mailing list.
Examinations are scheduled in sessions. Depending on the demand in your area there may be between one and three sessions per year. Each session is assigned a closing date which is the latest day that entries can be submitted by the teachers.
A pre-booking request system is available in the UK (although not in Northern Ireland). This enables teachers to request specific dates in advance. Teachers who do not take advantage of the pre-booking system may risk having to accept alternative dates to their preferred ones.
The Examinations Policies & guidelines section provides full details on preparing and organising examinations including a Teacher’s Check List that will help ensure that everything goes as smoothly as possible. Your Regional Manager is there to support you throughout the process. They will be able to provide you with full details on the above, including the pre-booking system, and will advise you of examination dates and schedules as soon as possible after the closing date.
