The Royal Academy of Dance offers a wide range of courses, classes and workshops for young people
Following the success of the first Guest Speaker event with Christopher Hampson in April and the forthcoming event with Kevin O Hare, the Faculty of Education is delighted to announce that Robert Parker, Artistic Director of Elmhurst School for Dance, will be their next guest speaker on Sunday 18 November at Birmingham Royal Ballet.
As a Principal dancer with Birmingham Royal Ballet, Robert performed all the classical lead roles, as well as in works by choreographers such as Twyla Tharp, Kim Brandstrup and David Bintley. He recently completed the Faculty of Education’s Professional Dancers’ Teaching Diploma.
Robert will discuss his training and career in dance and the presentation will conclude with the opportunity to mingle over a glass of wine. The event is free of charge to FoE students, RAD members and RAD staff, but non-members are also welcome to reserve in advance. Attendance will cost £10 (including VAT) for non-members. Please RSVP by Friday 9 November to Julie Bowers, Regional Manager for the Midlands & East England region at jbowers@rad.org.uk – places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
