The Royal Academy of Dance offers a wide range of courses, classes and workshops for young people

It was with great sadness that we announced the unexpected death of Professor Joan White CBE on Tuesday 21 February.
Joan was the architect of the Academy’s Faculty of Education. Between 1999 and her retirement in July of last year, Joan worked indefatigably to promote and develop the Academy’s teacher education programmes. She brought to the post a lifetime of experience and her death robs us of a much admired colleague, a much loved friend and someone whose keen intellect and extraordinary energy was put at the service of dance and dance teacher education for so many years.
Joan's funeral was held at Guildford Crematorium on Monday 5 March with refreshments being offered at Chestnut Lodge, Loseley Park, Guildford, GU3 1HS, following the service. The family requested that no flowers were sent but that instead donations made in favour of BRIGHT (Gastrointestinal Cancer Health & Treatment charity) via http://www.justgiving.com/brightresearch/donate
Luke Rittner, CEO spoke at the funeral and staff have requested that a copy of his words were made available for others to read.
