The Royal Academy of Dance offers a wide range of courses, classes and workshops for young people
Contract of employment
If you are successful at interview and are subsequently offered an appointment you will be issued with a contract of employment and job description.
You will also receive an employee handbook which contains full information on employment policies and practices, benefits and services, rules and disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Working hours
If you are appointed as a full-time employee the Academy’s normal full-time standard working day consists of 7 hours from 10.00am - 6.00pm with a lunch period of one hour. On Fridays, the normal working day finishes at 5.30pm. (34 ½ hours per week)
If you are appointed as a part-time employee your normal working days and hours will be stated on your contract of employment and job description
For many positions the Academy operates a flexible working scheme which allows employees to agree alternative working hours with the consent of the line manager. Under this scheme, employees may arrange to start work at any time between 8.00am – 10.00am Monday to Friday and finish work 8 hours later (or 7.5 hours on Friday) between 4.00pm – 6.00pm on Monday – Thursday and between 4.00pm – 5.30pm on Friday (depending on the employee’s start time).
