BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT FINALISTS lAUNCH UK STREET DANCE WEEKEND CHAMPIONSHIPS aT THE ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE

The group from Essex who received a standing ovation from the Britain's Got Talent audience are official ambassadors for the Street Dance Weekend UK Championships.

Members of Diversity took time out from their busy schedule to launch the Street Dance Weekend 2009 UK Championships event that inspired them and eventually led to them winning the street dance championships in 2007.

Ashley, choreographer of Diversity said, “We feel truly honored to take on this role, and to support the championships, I remember sitting in the audience in 2005, being impressed and inspired by the dance acts thinking we could do this if we work really hard as the standards were the best we had ever seen, then 2 years later we went on to win the championships ! I hope that we can encourage other young people to follow their dreams as the Street Dance Weekend UK Championships is a great opportunity for young people!”

Diversity will also be featured in the UK’s first Street dance film, set to hit the cinemas in the UK and the US in the Summer of 2010. The film based on the Street Dance Weekend UK Championships, will feature fellow street dance act Flawless also from the hit ITV show and the group that ironically won the Street Dance Weekend championships in 2005, which inspired Diversity to take dance seriously.

The Street Dance Weekend UK Championships is organised by G Force Productions, which are currently sponsored by Kiss and supported by the Royal Academy of Dance.

Final auditions for the championships will be held over 4 days commencing Friday 29 May, 31 May, 7 June and 14 June at the Royal Academy of Dance, London.

Diversity will be performing as ambassadors and special guest at The Street Dance Weekend UK Championships 2009 on 30 August 2009 at the Indigo O2. For further details check G Force website.
