Candidate Biographies

Alicia Beck

Alicia trained at The Rawle School of Dance, Macclesfield, later attending lessons, as a mid-associate, at The Royal Ballet School and Staffordshire Youth Ballet. Summer schools include Yorkshire Ballet Seminars, John Field Ballet Seminars and Horsforth Dance Seminar where Alicia won the Louise Browne Scholarship. Alicia commenced at Elmhurst School for Dance in 2001 where she continues her studies as a first year sixth form student.

Laura-Jane Gibson

Laura-Jane was a pupil at Dansarena Studios Ltd in Ayr, Scotland from 1993 - 2004 and her teachers were Kerry Bolland and Penny Withers. She was also a Junior Associate and a Senior Associate of Scottish Ballet where she was taught by Penny Withers. Laura-Jane commenced her full time vocational training at Elmhurst School for Dance in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet in October 2004.

Ana Carmen Guerrero

Ana Carmen was born in Mexico and began to study ballet at the age of five. She trained at the Academia de Ballet Diana Alanis run by Paola and Sandra Haro. Ana has attended the RAD Performance Course in the summers 2001, 2002 and 2004. In the summer 2003 she attended the RAD Summer School.

Melissa Hamilton

Melissa trained at the Jennifer Bullick School of Ballet in Northern Ireland where she was taught by Jennifer Hall and Fiona Campbell for eleven years, attaining Distinction in RAD Grades 1-8 and Intermediate, Advanced Foundation and Advanced I. Melissa has attended various workshops and won scholarships to attend The Wells and Aberdeen Summer Schools. She is currently a first year sixth form student at the Elmhurst School for Dance in association with the Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Linzi Ketley

Linzi began dancing when she was three years old and has enjoyed everyday of it. Her passion for dancing has been influenced and expanded by her classical training at The Riley School of Performing Arts, Doncaster, where she was given excellent training and guidance. More recently she has received extra training with the Northern Ballet Theatre. She is looking forward to a future career in dance.
