Genée International Ballet Competition 2010

Genée International Ballet Competition returns to London’s Dance House We are delighted to announce that the 2010 Genée International Ballet Competition will be taking place in London, five years after it was last held in the UK.
The Semi-finals will be held at RAD headquarters on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 November and the Final at Sadler's Wells Theatre on Sunday 21 November.
Candidate Information
Entry Requirements
The competition is open to dancers who have passed the Academy’s Advanced 2 Examination in Classical Ballet with Distinction or have been awarded Solo Seal. Applicants must be paid up members of the Royal Academy of Dance. Candidates must be aged between fifteen and nineteen on the last day of advice for results and be of pre-professional status and may not have been employed on a professional contract prior to entry of the competition.
If you have been offered a professional engagement, which commences after the last day of advice for results you will still be eligible to enter the competition.
There will be no elimination procedure for candidates prior to the competition. Evidence is required of the relevant qualification held.
Closing date for application: Monday 11 October 2010.
Candidates who are waiting for their Advanced II examination result must still complete an application form and will be advised by Monday 25 October 2010 whether they are eligible to enter. Candidates who have not achieved the required examination result by Monday 25 October 2010 will be refunded their entry fee.
